I think “Fire Isiah!” should be the universal chant when calling for a coach’s head.

I was thinking about this during player introductions for the Clippers/Celtics game, last night. It almost seemed like the announcer tried to sneak in “Head Coach Mike Dunleavy”, quickly and quietly, so no one would notice. But they did, Clippers fans, and they let him know it, booing with more enthusiasm than they had cheered for any of their players. Booing is great–I’m a fan–but wouldn’t they have really made their point if, instead, they had chanted “Fire Isiah!”? I think so.

In fact, I think you could expand it further. If I could get a few friends to join me, I think I just might spend 41 cents to buy a share of AIG stock, just so I can chant “Fire Isiah!” at the next shareholder meeting. If the company lasts that long.
