Free Ballin’

I’m watching the Magic play the Raptors in Toronto and I really can’t get enough about the way the fans go after Vince Carter.  Every time he touches the ball they boo him.  I mean, I know this is no news; we’ve all heard it before–for 6 years now.  But it’s so instinctual at this point, they boo immediately, every time he touches the ball, the way you jerk your hand back from a hot plate even before you feel the pain.  Consider, there are children in the Raptors’ crowd who are so young that all they know about basketball is that you cheer when the team in white gets the ball through the circle.  And you boo when Vince Carter touches the ball.  It makes me want to move to Toronto.
